2nd June 2019 - Just a thought and the start of a song

Thought for the day: "I hate it when people won't let go of the past. Debt Collectors are the worst!"

Another day on the South Coast - travelling back at lunchtime.

Waiting in Barton - and have no guitar with me. Always a mistake.
Started penning a song - have no idea of the tune yet...

Going down in History - The Bard's Needs

I'm a Bard and write the greatest odes
Your source of living history
Put coin in my pockets
And I'll sing of lands both slave and free
Come fill my tankard to the top
Put down your sword and sit with me
And tell me of your mighty deeds
And I will pen a song for thee
To thrill the children at your knee
To make the wenches warm and free
To make the lads all follow thee
To fill the common folk with glee
There's only one more thing that I will need
To bring to you this fame
You must tell your deeds to me
and also give your name.......

Oh!!.....

I can't find a rhyme to your name
You're a Hero - I know it's a shame
It's all the same to me
But the annals of History
are written by the Bards and Skalds you see
So your wondrous daring do and mighty deeds
Are fine - but there is one thing that they need
A name with easy Rhyme
Is essential every time
So tough my friend, there's no mighty song for thee...

You tell me of heroes you have fought
And evil monsters you have killed
Princesses you have saved
And kingdoms saved from tyrants by your skill
Come fill my tankard to the top
Put down your sword and sit with me
And tell your story from the start
And I will pen a song for thee
To swell with pride the bravest heart
To bring you wealth by horse and cart
You tell me tales I'll do my part
I'll use for you my Bardic Art
And finally you must impart
To bring to you this fame
Come tell me all your deeds again
and also give your name.......

Oh......

Is essential every time
So tough my friend, For you no history!!

You're a hero and its really not your fault
Your parents are the ones to blame
Your source of all your problems
Is when they chose for you your name
Come fill my tankard to the top
Put down your sword and sit with me
And tell me of your mighty deeds
And I will pen a song for thee
But if you were a Joe or Fred
That rhymes so easily with the dead
Of Heroes Led, or monsters Bled
Of wounds to the Head and banquets Fed
So there's only one thing that I will need
To bring to you this fame
You must tell your deeds to me
and also change your name.......

Cheers!
