18th November 2025 - Lighting the Cottage

Thought for the day :"Police are investigating why the plaque on the wall outside the Colgate head office, keeps disappearing....."

Wet

We have had a lot of rain in the last few days.
Some pictures today from Tresaith Beach showing how large the waterfall is

And so today's task is to set up some carriage lights at the front of the house. So these are the before pictures for reference.

Didn't get as far as I wanted. Firstly, the stone walls require a lot of drilling and the rechargeable Bosch was just not up to the job. Fishing through the other drills that I have and finding chocks to loosen the bits, stripping one down and then managing the second. Have managed two holes which is at least a start.

Managed to wire up the lead, but it was clear that I needed some new cable clips to stretch the wire along the road and get the right length. Also needed to get some bulbs as they are all the screw in bulbs and not bayonet of which I have many.

So a trip to Cardigan and surprisingly difficult to find anywhere selling the clips.  Home Bargains got me some bulbs, but three stores later I managed to find some grey ones in Jewsons, and a pack of white (which I need really)  at B & M.

As a result, I lost the light and had to give up for the night.  Fingers crossed that it remains dry tomorrow though snow is forecast for Northern areas.

Managed to skip the showers long enough to take the dogs over the fields..

Cheers
