28th August 2025 - And rain and clearing

Thought for the day :"Can’t believe I just lost a race against a Mother Superior, it’s the most embarrassing moment of my life, second to nun."

Wet

No photos today ...
Was very wet and some heavy showers interspersed with quite hot periods.

Took the kegs back to Mantle and left a poster for the Pink Floyd Night
Called in on Specsavers to change my contact lenses  to the correct prescription
and found that they had a cancellation for a sight test - so took the  cancellation and had my eyes tested - apparently it is two years since I last had a test!!

Seems my eyes are still improving - now 1.50 and 1.25  a drop of .25 on each eye.
Also paid for the extra scan and both eyes seems to be fairly healthy ...

Popped in on Marc the Hat at his guitar studio and left a poster and an invite to come to the jam session on Wednesday - he is likely to be too tired after opening the shop all day Thursday.

Called next door to speak to Cerys  - who had been at the tavern over the weekend with the Skeleton Crew... Reminder for self - Matt is the puppeteer who lives in the 600 years old closed pub in Cilgerrin and Toby is the puppet builder who lives next door / near..  Matt with the video projectors is a friend of Olly Baum the tree surgeon.

Dropped a poster into Cardigan Cellar Bar  - though Steve is on holiday. Susie points out that we are holding our event on a Thursday night and that is the night for the open mic at teh cellar bar - but may still give some publicity ..

Was a little careful looking for speed cameras in Cenarth and Llechryd and Newcastle Emlyn as I picked up my medicines from the chemist ...
Sadly all to nought - up the hill in Penrhwyllan  and pretty sure I was doing 27 when I saw the speed camera van .
May be a naughty boy course for me - well I haven't done one before .

Picked up some chopped wheat from Pets and Ponies and left them a poster ...

But that took the day up and though we had a visit from Sarah who had some lovely photos of her rescue with the Helicopter and a rainbow...

Cheers !
