Thought for the day :"My wife told me I have average intelligence. That's just mean."
Dry (only just - felt some rain drops this evening but it passed)
A bit more of the legacy ..
It must be said that a lot of people have said some very nice things after my post on Curious Pastimes site regarding my retirement from the system

I wish you nothing but the best for the future.
I think I speak for everyone when I say this is a world changing event, your legacy in CuPa is legendary and you will be sorely missed by the entire game.
You essentially founded the Bards Guild way back when and your support throughout me trying to revive it has meant everything.
Vollsanger has earned a place of honour in not only the world of CuPa but also in our hearts.

You will be so dreadfully missed! From keeping us fed and watered in the Wolves Kitchen, to being the life and soul of the tavern, there can’t be many of us who haven’t felt your presence. Your music has been, and will always be, the soundtrack of my game. Thank you so much to you and Susie for everything you’ve done to bring music and song to the game and I’m sure there will be many a song from your songbook sung for generations to come. Well come visit you in Wales and share a tankard or 2 xx

It absolutely will not be the same with you gone.
My happiest and most treasured childhood memories are almost all exclusively in the moon in the midst of the chaos.
I am so proud to say I got to be a part of it while it was in its glory in the game.
I'm also proud to say its still glorious stationary in its beautiful place up in Wales. (Seriously everyone considering visiting, you so should. Its lush)
You've done so much and given so much to the game, to the people and to me.
I think no one can disagree with me when I sat I have the coolest grandfather.
Your songs will live on. Because I will loudly and annoyingly sing them in your absence.
The echo of everything you've left will ring out for years to come.
Thank you for all you did for the game and I love you very much. We will miss Vollsangar. It appears the week has finally ended.

My Ballad for Vollsanger
The tavern grows quiet, the lanterns burn low,
A bard takes his bow, it is time he must go.
His strings once sang laughter, his voice told our tales,
Through battles and feasting, through triumphs and fails.
He wandered the kingdoms with song as his guide,
A friend to the many, with none left aside.
Each soul that he met, he gave moment and cheer,
A tune for their triumph, a verse for their tear.
Now silence will linger where music once played,
Yet memory echoes in ballads he made.
For though he hangs up his guitar tonight,
His songs still burn on like the stars in the night.
So raise up your tankards, let voices ring clear,
To Vollsanger’s journey, we toast him with cheer.
A bard’s heart is endless, his stories endure,
Though he rests from the road, his spirit is pure.

I would suggest to Carrickfergus – this is tune that is mournful but warm and beautiful but brings a tear to my eye but very fitting as it incorporates Vollsangers journey and a final goodbye and what you mean to us

You will be so incredibly missed. I treasure every memory of wren and I running around the tavern or hassling the people in the wolves kitchen as children to the soundtrack of all your songs. Your music and presence has had an impact like no other and I am so incredibly grateful to have sung with you and been brought up in the chaos that is the Crimson Moon!!

It’s hard to imagine the game without Vollsanger’s songs and stories. You’ve given us so much over the years — laughter, music, and those little moments around the fire that made the world feel alive. CP won’t ever quite sound the same without you, but the echoes of your bard will always be part of the legend we share.
Thank you for everything you brought to the field and to the community. Vollsanger may be retiring, but the music and memories will stay with us.

My only memory of you is when me and my mates where drinking in the bar, with drinks we'd bought from the bar, you wandered up and assumed they where drinks we'd brought from outside, picked them up without asking us, and started to wander off to confiscate them or something and only stopped when we made an issue of it.
It was weird and wherever you go try not to just grabs folks drinks for no good reason.

A sauce you’d generously splash over any larp dish offered. Thankyou for making larp always taste better. To the bards that remain at CuPa- please sing Vollsanger’s songs to us now and then, we’ll raise a cup to the old Norsecan, think fondly of old times… and then check our purses.

It's also received with much sadness, but overwhelmingly gratitude. I remember our auspicious first meeting. I didn't see the very clear signs indicating I shouldn't cut through behind the tent, which I proceeded to cut through. You came around the corner as I tripped up. For half a tick you expressed how clear the sign was in a not too happy tone (fair!), before very quickly then checking I was ok and helping me through. Cut to many happy memories in the tavern for fun, games & glorious song. I'm sorry I can't be there for renewal for one more rendition of, "you bring the mead" & the immortal, "here all week". Sing it loud & sing it proud mate. Thanks for entertaining me, all week, every week at Larp. Enjoy your swan song at CP. X
