5th May 2022 - Yurts, Gardens, Dragons, and German Fest Rules

Thought for the day :"I occasionally enjoy having my steak undercooked.. but that’s rare!!"

Visit to Vic today - he was in hospital yesterday for a cut on the head and he has survived well. But he has lost a lot of weight and apparently is not wanting to eat much at the moment. Moving to dietician to see what foods he will accept - Fortisip and soup seem to be the mainstay at the moment.

But he was in good spirits and though he seemed unsure of who I was - he was happy with the company. Susie and he continue to have a good relationship but fifteen minutes and he was back in his wordsearch books and conversation had dropped.

He seems to be happy and is being very well looked after so no complaints.

Back at the homestead Susie finished planting some beans and used some new canes to from a support for the growth though in fairness we should have had 8ft canes not 6ft.

I achieved very little - but that is okay - we had a day trip in the car which always disrupts the day.

Tomorrow is another day..

Meanwhile in Yurt Land - Susie has managed to get the bedding sorted and IKEA replaced the mattress today ..

And outside we have put some of the Glastonbury spinners ..  just a small extra and a harp back to the past and stuff that we have kept !

Another couple of shots down through the bluebell glades now that the brambles have been removed

In other news - I have worked upon a plan for the Garden Walk

Just for the record I have translated the new system for the Conquest of Mythodea - so I can have a good look at what it means for artists for the future..

Unofficial explanation of the artist conditions Conquest 2022

As of May 2nd, 2022

A few weeks ago the conditions for artists were published. At the same time, Live Adventure/ Burgschneider (LA/BS) their vision and background to the conditions in one explained in a small round. The information has been summarized to the best of our knowledge and etc. distributed via Facebook. However, it turned out that even in the small Round with the explanation of LA/BS the information was interpreted differently.

Accordingly, the conditions on the homepage and the Summary of misunderstandings.

In two extensive phone calls with LA/BS, a number of things were clarified and others were left open question to be answered. This information is summarized below and approved for sending out after cross-reading by the organizers.

We hope you now got a concrete idea of what the house artists and the Artist players expected at the Conquest.

background

The Conquest was already economically difficult in the years leading up to 2020. Now everyone has to Euros that have already been turned over again because of the corona crisis and again because of the war in be turned over to Ukraine. Mobile kitchens, for example, are becoming urgent needed elsewhere. Therefore, the incisions are large.

Due to the short time, the registration is currently very short and bumpy. It has to be cannot be an example for the next few years and is due to the circumstances of this year.

Next year will be better.

The convoy with its extensive and expensive infrastructure (electricity, drinking water, etc.) will be compressed and there will be less space in the bohemian quarter.

Vision of the organization

The organizers want to get away from the festival character that the Conquest has always had in recent years continued to accept. The baggage train is now becoming one of the main points of contact for plot enthusiasts. Everyone in the entourage should contribute to the atmosphere, play an active part in the plot and promote and also generate individual side plots.

There is a clear division of artists who make their art in the taverns of LA/BS perform and larpers acting as NPC or SC performers.

Players portraying an artist character are not necessarily OT an artist be.

Conditions have been simplified to reduce friction and annoyance (exact on this in the point below). The changes in the conditions comes from the desire of the Organizer: everyone should know where you are and what you are getting yourself into.

The most important criterion when applying is a good, constructive approach Cooperation.

One credo of the organizer is that IT problems are solved by IT and OT problems by OT be resolved. This should also be lived by the participants.

conditions

The "Artist Categories" have been completely revised. Now it becomes a subdivision into House artists, NPC artists, and regular players (who make art freely of their own accord) give.
The conditions can be found on the homepage: https://mythodea.de/kuenstler/

What does this mean now? After the talks we tried one compile explanation/translation.

○ Local bands or other local musicians can ask for support ask. If there really is no other way and no musical Accompaniment finds it possible that house bands are divided up for it.

This must not be the norm and it should be different somehow walk.

NPC Artists:

● NPC artists are first and foremost larpers and specifically NPCs that add to the ambience contribute, actively play and promote the plot and also individual subplots to generate.

● Regarding the text (inserted here as an excerpt) from the homepage:

You appear as part of the plot and gameplay.

1. There are frequent, small and large appearances with a lot of role play (accompaniment the Capo's wedding, supporting a ritual, etc.).

2. You are also available for game orders as part of a controlled player character / NPC. You can use an NSC ticket for the ConQuest acquire.

3. You are an active part of the artist guild the rest of the time and prepare one "normal" guild process in the baggage train, like other guilds (a public Event to join for players, a sign, nice camp and game offers).

○ Regarding 1.: “Performance” here means the presence of the bard/Artist character in a game scene. Like a warrior that Fighting and healing for the healer is for an artist character also to understand the art. An artistic performance is not always imperative.

○ To 2.: Game orders take place as your own character. It is not intended as an undead or similar to have to help out

○ To 2.: Game assignments can be something like a musical artefact Bring location XY into the game.

○ Points 1 and 2 should clarify what point 3 means and are no additional services.

These are the same Requirements as for the other guilds of the baggage train.

● How does information and plot get to the NPC/player artists?

○ Some (especially the big points) will be made before the event communicated (Festival of Flowers on day X at approx. YY o'clock etc.).

○ In the baggage train there is a HQ that is 50% IT and 50% OT. There the guild must min. exchange information once a day.

○ Players, messengers and, if necessary, GMs who come to the camp

● IT inquiries do not necessarily have to be answered with artistic performances.

The main thing is that you play together and react in character and coherently as IT guild.

● “Group concepts” means normal bands/art groups

● Currently up to 50 NPC artists can participate in the CoM. This number is However, not "set in stone", but the goal is to have a good selection of to have different “types of art”.

● NPC artists must camp in the baggage train.

● In addition to the artists themselves, fire safety, guild staff or managers also store in the baggage train and apply as part of the artists' group concepts.

Active participation in the game and the plot is a prerequisite.

● NPCs should be on site from the start of the event.

Player-Artist:

● The player-artist tickets have also been set up to help us after the long Waiting for the conditions to allow for a cheap player ticket too acquire.

● The choice of camp is free with this ticket.

● Player-artists who camp in the convoy must support the guild game.

● Even artists who do not directly create art can use their concept that to Artist guild suits, apply. As part of/attachment to a group of artists or also individually.

● How many player-artists can camp in the caravan? If it's a nice concept is sure to find a place in the entourage.

Storage in the convoy

The Arts Quarter is getting smaller. At the moment about 50 artists are planned in the entourage (as first magnitude; There may still be changes). Outside can still store other artists who can also participate in the guild game.

The artists in the entourage must support the guild game and be part of the plot.

House artists who don't want to participate in the game don't camp in the artists' quarter, maybe in an OT area.

The Guild(s)

As a clear message, the following was announced: As the bohemian district becomes slimmer, the guilds are merged. This should also serve to make things easier and make it more straightforward. I.e. it will be for all artists (bards, artists, fire dancers, etc.) only give one guild.

The cataclysmic upheaval in the world of Mithraspera is the IT reason why the guilds have grown together.

Guild organization

The OT organization will change according to the size and the merged guilds also slim down. Live Adventure would like a contact person and a deputy.

There will also be a district manager who will take care of the warehouse planning.

We have asked and listed what is to come for the guild organization. These are tasks for the guild organization as a whole and not for one person.

Tasks of the OT-Gildenorga:

● Provide a guild contact and representative for LA

○ Should be available within a week

○ Distributes information from LA to the guild

○ Passes information from the guild to LA

● The tent/camp planning for the Conquest is done via the quarter manager tool. here the tickets and participants will be divided between the camps. There they give theirs tent dimensions. In this way, the place can be planned in advance. The Quarter Manager planning for the warehouse receives training in the tool from LA.

● What demands does the organizer have on the guild organization/the guild organization (guild tent, decoration, opening times etc.)?

○ Generally a nice camp

○ Guild specific decoration that it is recognizable as the artist guild

○ Especially the front to the street should look good

○ An Artists Guild sign on the street front

● To what extent must the OT-Gildenorga also during the event Maintain contact with LA (e.g. availability via radio to organize spontaneous actions coordinate) or should it run completely IT?

○ There should be a contact person for the organization/SL at the Conquest.

This gets a “mark” so that you can recognize it (e.g yellow bag)

○ He does not have to be reachable by radio

○ Some straight the big points will be made before the event communicated (Festival of Flowers on day X at approx. YY o'clock etc.)

○ In the baggage train there is a HQ that is 50% IT and 50% OT. There the guild must min. exchange information once a day

○ The camp should be manned and you should know where the Contact is

○ Alex (who has supported us in the past as an artist supervisor) will join the baggage train and also check with the artist guild and help where need is.

● On the Larp, the artist organization should be a motivator for LARP, IT and plot participation be. She is not responsible for everyone making their contribution.

● Can the IT and OT organization be the same person?

○ Yes, but it doesn't have to be.

● What could e.g. B. be a public event?

○ Bard competition, lessons in (fire) dance during rituals, ....

○ LA is happy to help with and coordinate creative ideas

● When will the NPC players and the size of the guild be fixed, so that with the OT planning can be started?

○ The applications will be reviewed 2-3 weeks after the application deadline and approved.

○ The quarter manager and the contact person get an overview of the tickets in the portal of Skald/Viertelmanager-Tool

● Plot

○ The Tross internal plot plan is shared with the Gildenorga in advance. Own Plots are integrated into this plan.

○ Own (side) plots can be created and must be agreed with LA will

● The artist organization coordinates the needs of the guild in advance. For example benches

or straw bales.
