7th October 2023 - Squeak Pea in a new home and Grasses Topped

Thought for the day :"I got a new pair of gloves today, but they’re both ‘lefts,’ which on the one hand is great, but on the other, it’s just not right."

Finally managed to get the lawns topped - I will not say cut as it was far too long for that - John Deere set at 3.5" just to mulch it and make it a little more acceptable.
Toby was impressed...

In other news, Susie spent a lot of time clearing the inside of the Peacock enclosure so that Fabio and Zsa Zsa have a little more room than before.  She will finish the outside tomorrow - and letting a lot more light into the enclosure.

And I set a new lip around the brooding cage to try to prevent any access to rats - though they were meant not to be able to get into the area at all - Squeak Pea seems to enjoy the new and larger area - we will see what the other chickens make of him/her (THEY?)

In other news - put some more compost into the polytunnel and collected another 9 bags and put them into the tunnel as well - I think maybe one or two more trips to finish the job.
Sarah also has a greenhouse full of grapes which we will try to pick tomorrow when we go across.

Last year we froze the grapes and then made a gallon of wine which is clearing now - not sure that it has been tasted yet, but ready for another batch to start up.

Having to make my list of officers for JBL Court of Athelstan for the 11th November, and see that we have a meeting of Royal Order on the 21st October so will have to get the book out again - dog walking will turn into a learning session again!!

And so - another day

Cheers !
