25th October 2023 - Preparing for the Spooky Weekend

Thought for the day :"I know a lot of jokes about retired people, but none of them work."

Running around day - Had Flu and Covid Jab yesterday and both arms are tender and I have been feeling very tired all day ...

Susie only took the Flu Jab and she has been under the weather as well.

But had to get the kegs of beer from Mantle Brewery and the rest of the stock from Tesco ...

Also paid out for the layer's pellets and the poultry mixed corn - 

And the John Deere bill came in at £204.60 which was quite a lot - but was needed.

And they did a good job as well.

Been spending the day trying to sort out the Court of Penfro for Athelstan - an installation for Tuesday next - and printed out the ritual as it looks as though I will be doing the main ceremony ...

Ho Hum 

Thought I was giving up most of this..

Meanwhile we are getting ready for the weekend - Found the bag full of Halloween decorations and Susie has a nice onesie and lots of bandages to be our Mummy 

A day of also laminating ...

24th October 2023 - Flu Jabs and Flyers

Thought for the day :"Spiders are very smart because they can find everything on the web."

Went for a Flu Jab and decided to take the Covid Booster at the same time ..

One in each arm - not so painful really - 

Will see if either causes a problem 

Susie decided to take the Flu Jab only and get the Covid at another time as she had a bad reaction last year and di not know if it was the Flu or Covid that caused the problem...

So Far - so good ..

Spent most of the day trying to sort out eh Court of Penfro - a Court of Athelstan that I helped start up and so it is sad to see it failing at the moment - so adding my bit to try to get it up and running again for the installation  .. Good thing I am learning ritual when walking the dogs at the moment !

May have bought some daffodils and narcissi and tulips - I would say that I was unsupervised but madam was with me buying stuff for the Polytunnel .. It seems that we have left it too late to be planting for winter veg  ...   Who Knew?

So .. 4KG of daffs and narcissi and 36 tulip bulbs - goodness knows what she bought !

But a day also for getting flyers ready ..

23rd October 2023 - Garden Photos and Back on Broad Band

Monday !!

Up early for the Openreach Man  - Sam - who came once before and found that the cable was broken and replaced it (you may gather that I have had a number of calls where I have no confidence at all in the capabilities of the responder - but here I was once again very satisfied..)

Seems we had a dual problem - a short circuit near us and an unknown error about 750 meters away ...

Local short circuit turns out to be a squirrel chewing the wire at our own pole in the garden..

Further problems were sorted - but we did not really know what it was - but it seems to be up and running again and Sam reset the broadband to give us 40 mb download again ..

All in all a good day..

as he was leaving - Trefor told me that he had 9 bags of hardcore for collection and as I collected it Marc  brought in the last section of the chimney that he was taking down ..

All of which had to go into the Parking Lot...

So no photos - just too busy - 

Oh managed to get the dogs walked before 11am and all sorted 

Susie spent some time in the Polytunnel clearing the tomatoes and preparing for winter planting...

All days: 00:00-00:30, 02:30-07:30, 22:30-24:00

Seems I have to avoid 12.30 to 2.30  - that was unexpected 

10.30pm to 12.30am - 02.30 to 0730

In other news - Charlie had a good run around the grounds 

Need to sort out how to rotate the videos
