22nd April 2022 - Dresses and Firepits

Thought for the day :"I gave up my seat to a blind person on the bus. Pity, I enjoyed my job as a bus driver."

And Family staying which is a great pleasure...  

Susie finalises the dress for Wren and it comes out beautifully 

and Knights are there to protect her with their weapons 

Meanwhile in the Yurt - we have some rugs down and camp beds make for a good overnight stay 

Well, Toby approves at least 

View down to the yurt is just great ..

And in the evening we have a firepit and a chance to sit around and mess with fire..

Playing a bit of catch up as it has been a few days where I have been very busy so missed a few daily blogs..  but there is a bit of photo evidence for what has been happening ..

20th April 2022 - Burning the Lower Quarter

Thought for the day :"Bought a cheap wig today for a pound. It was a small price toupee"

A morning with Cat in the lower quarter playing with fire - we decided that the brambles were probably dry enough and they were !

Cleared all the existing vegetation and burned - still very wet but we have had some very strong rain over the last couple of days (though to be fair at times when I was not aware of it - as far as I am concerned it has been sunny for the last few days!  A bonus of not getting up too early.

And so we have a fairly clear landscape to work on 

Sadly, we disturbed four eggs from a Blackbird - not even in a nest - just in the bramble patches - we were being so careful not to roast a hedgehog - oh well

Spent the afternoon sorting some boxes in the workshop to find some rollers to paint the floor of the Yurt - and managed to clear about five more banana boxes and a couple of red cases - we will get there - it is just taking time 

Sunny all day and probably should have had some sun cream on - but was nice to be out and about.
