7th July 2022 - Covid Rules

Thought for the day :"Ordered some German Food on line – the sauerkraut has arrived but the Wurst is yet to come"

Susie down with the coughs and the flu symptoms today..
So sorry that she caught from me - we did not do a test - it seemed unnecessary  but will do one tomorrow

I had a bad night for sleep - no more than 15 minutes at a time other than one twenty minutes with some serious dreams ...   not sure that staying alcohol free is good for you ...
or maybe it was the virus - not sure - I am not an expert at these things

Either way - I was up from 7am this morning which was strange for me - and still managing the ten o'clock news  before bed ....

Ho Hum

Dogs are confused - but I felt well enough this afternoon to take them along Moilen Fields ...

Cheers (I think)

6th July 2022 - Rona'd!!! oh - and dinosaurs of course!

Thought for the day :"Going to have to sell my Theremin – haven’t touched it in years"

So still feeling a little rough this morning so did the old test - and guess what
a fairly clear positive

Hopefully symptoms do not get worse - fingers crossed - but 2 and a half years isolation was clearly worth it if I can catch that quickly..

In other news - some dinosaurs arrived today - well because they can!!

Now to find somewhere in the garden to put them ...

Your task - should you decide to accept it - is to locate said dinosaurs when you next call at Ffynnon Wen ....

So am drinking lots of water and not really hungry - nasty tickly cough and a few aches and pains but other than that so far so good !

Cheers !

5th July 2022 - Still under the weather and facing City Hall

Thought for the day :"You can't tell if a pterodactyl is in the toilet?... the p is silent!"

A day in bed!

The Covid test yesterday was negative not a suggestion of a line...

But irritating cough, indigestion, general wooliness, and a lethargy - so I went back to bed.
Got up for an hour this afternoon and then was able to go back to sleep again - so not al right with me at the moment.

No alcohol, a hot chocolate - that was interesting - sadly not enough milk so had to make with water with a dash of milk on the end - but still an indication that not all well.

Look forward to tomorrow and feeling better ...

In other news:
The TENS application saga continues - the TENS application was apparently blank so had to re-write it
And so an email asking for the Risk Assessment -
sent to them pointing out that it should already be on file

Then email this evening from the Public Disorder department advising us that if we put on a full Rave then we may be shut down.

I sent a polite note back to them ...

Thank you for your communication.

I am not sure if you have consulted Google Maps with regard to our premises which are very isolated

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/sa445qy/@52.1000548,-4.4239483,16.5z

To assist I have attached a schematic.

I have not applied for amplified music

I would welcome a site visit at any time

You will also not that there were no such conditions or recommendations when we conducted a similar event on the 6 days of the Jubilee Celebration

I would repeat that this is a Charity Event to follow up on our success in raising £750 for Ukraine in the Jubilee Week. It is open to local residents and the maximum that attended at any one time last time was about 50 persons. That was of course on a Bank Holiday rather than a normal weekend.

However I can assure you that after 16 years in this business we are more than happy to comply with any and all recommendations

For and on behalf of Susan Sewell

Iain Sewell

  Oh and the schematic...

Oh well - I Suppose they are just doing the job ... but a bit of preparation may assist.

We shall see ...

Hopefully - will be feeling better tomorrow

Cheers !

4th July 2022 - Under the weather - Covid Free so far

Thought for the day :"Just realised that the paper towels by the petrol pumps is to wipe away the tears after filling your tank "

A day in the garden - cut all the laurels but couldn't get the gumption to clear up -
got a nasty irritating cough that has been worrying me (us), and feeling a little under the weather

Covid test is clearly negative though - so will try again tomorrow - always possible that I picked up a simple cold being with other people over the weekend - or even from visitors...

Susie shot herself a big rat today ... it was a female - look at the size of it !!

Neighbour in the Romany Caravan popped in so we gave her the guided tour - she seemed to enjoy..

Walked the dogs and decided to take a rest ...

Will need to get the strimmer out again tomorrow - the island and lower quarter are taking over..

No more pictures today
Maybe tomorrow

In other news - politics and sleaze

Cheers !

3rd July 2022 - Happy Birthday Toby

Thought for the day :"I dated a cross-eyed girl once but it didn't work out. She was seeing someone else!!"

So the photos are beginning to come in from the weekend
Of course I am no longer a key person in the whole scheme of things any more having given up my Deputy PGM position...  so photos only catch me in the distance... There may be some from the Lodge later as I am Junior Warden and will be taking the Chair in November 2023...   Ho Hum !!

Still a favourite order for me ...   Was strange to get back to a Lodge after over two years ..
Just hoping that it was not a super spreader...

In other news today, Edinburgh confirmed our South Wales recommendation that my friend Carl be promoted to Provincial Grand Master of the Royal Order of Scotland (I am the current Deputy but did not want the top job) and I am pleased that Carl has decided to keep me on as his Deputy - a Job I will enjoy as it is only two meetings a year ..

In other news - it was Toby's first birthday today and the dogs both had turkey for dinner .
Not intentionally - but we had let it go beyond the sell by date.

Toby's main problem -
how to pick up two toys at a time

Happy Birthday Toby

Another day - Lawns Cut - Dogs Walked  - Susie with bad tummy today - not sure if it is food poisoning or just some bad bread ..  hoping that she gets better tomorrow ..

Cheers!

2nd July 2022 - Just a thought

Thought for the day :"A milking stool only has three legs because the cow has the udder"

Away on Masonic Business - long time since I have been able to say that !

Cheers !

1st July 2022 - Off on my travels

Thought for the day :"Saw a fellow walking a shellfish on a lead - thought it must be hard to walk with a pulled mussel"

Friday, and Jens and Ute left at 5am this morning for their journey home - having persuaded me that I should go to Mythodea this year on a ticket with the village..  and so I am looking at busses to Germany - Planes and Trains are far too expensive.

But off to Abergavenny today for an Athelstan Meeting - first time in a Masonic Hall in over two years

So only a thought for today ...

Cheers !
