Thought for the day: "My parents were both dwarves, they worked hard but always struggled to put food on the table."

Managed some grown up stuff today.

Paid to Vic's rent and set up standing orders
Ordered new phone for him.
Sorted Community Charge for new house and old.
Se up payments for water
Changed the name of the house
Visited Vic and escaped the manageress..

The day was extremely hot - and amazing thunder storms all around us - but not at FfynnonWen.

Had a walk down by the springs where Nancy and Susie have done so much work...

Cheers

11th August 2020 - 47th Anniversary

Thought for the day :" She said “after this is over I want to go to the South of France “ I said “that would be Nice” "

Got the ducks and the Chickens from 41 today and put them into their new home ..

A bit of a fracas in Vic's new home - we took his carpets there for him, and checked that he was settling when the manageress of the complex came and told us that they were in lock - down and that friends and family were not allowed to attend.  That causes a bit of a problem so I told her that I was his carer and she said that she had not been told. I said that without a phone I would have to call daily to check what he had, and to make sure that his medication and food was arranged.
We sort of left with a bit of a face off - so we will see tomorrow what happens when I visit again.

So the evening was a feast of baked potato, cheese and baked beans - a feast fit for a King and worthy of a 47th Anniversary - of and it rained half way through the meal outside but we had the Veranda!!

Family still with us enjoying the pool jumping off Cenarth Falls...

Deceptively hot...    gotta rush!!

Cheers !

So - moved Vic today.
Early start thought we could not get away until 9am - but that was early enough..
Llanelli to pick up the fridge - freezer..

Burry Port and empty the flat
Llanybydder and dress the new flat ..
Some lovely people there - all socially distanced of course
All set and curtains up - but no telephone yet and the mobile phone does not work !!

Seems we are destined to troubles with communications at the moment - though Openreach  may have fixed our current Ffynnon Wen issues

but more tomorrow - possibly

Tired now !!

Cheers!

Went to view Vic's  new flat today at Cwm Aur.
Socially distancing and only two allowed into the flat so Susie went in with him.
But the new "32" is great and he really seems to like it.
All set to move in on Monday now.

But that means a lot of trips back and forward today and a firepit in the evening.
Had to finish the bottle of wine used for cooking! It was the only thing to do  !

Catch up tomorrow I think

Cheers

6th August 2020 - A Stay at Home Day

Thought for the day :"Bad puns are measured by a sighsmograph."

Found another path today ...  In the middle of a jungle/Flower Bed...
Susie has attacked it !!!

In other news - stayed at the house today while we waited for calls regarding Vic's move..
Hopefully tomorrow for a view and Monday for Contract.

Sky still cannot get Openreach to keep to their 2-5 day terms - they are requesting 2 more working days so I get no result until Monday for n update - meaning Tuesday I suppose.

Landline is crackly but working . Broadband is sporadic and about 7 mbs  - well under the guaranteed 25MBS  but at least working..
Susie Mobile is now on EE and working though we had a bright moment when it said that we had mobile over wifi - but it did not work  ...

Sky have agreed to only charge £34 for leaving - and twitter pressure caused a personal response..
but not sure I will get better than that - so will probably follow the EE sim case...

Started clearing the workshop shed today ...  did a little with the goat pen ... Raining . Got a wheel for the sit on go-kart cutter - £28 but seems to be the price...
Ordered some Walkie Talkies - think we will need them here..
Also ordered some rock solar lights - they will turn up soon

Family back this evening

Got Netflix and Youtube working on the Q Box...
All ion all - seem to be on a positive side at the end of the day ...

Cheers!
