A rainy blowy day today and we have decided to stay at the house. Have been down to the Paddock and shoveled a few barrels of goat poo into the compost heap, fed the peacocks and chickens, and not much else. 

Managed to get Susie onto mobile phone with EE, and surprisingly find that we get free mobile over wifi at the address so that is a bonus - knowing that we can get calls in.

Had a bit of a fight with Tesco as they were offering nothing for lack of service and wanting to charge me £54 for leaving them.

Had a far nicer guy on the phone today when we found that we had to unlock the network on her phone, and he agreed to take off all the comms costs for the phone - but that there was a residual value on the "free phone" of £34 which wold still have to be paid if I kept the phone, so that looks like a bonus option.

Fighting with Sky, as Openreach are now 7 days into the second service call when they suggest a 2-5 day completion. Apparently they keep re-scheduling - but it has been upgraded to the next level technician and we should have an update of why there is a delay tomorrow. Sky agrees that lack of service from 20th July is unacceptable. Too right !

Had a bit of a dial tone today, though very noisy, so managed a couple of calls from the home phone...

We are getting there - slowly !

4th August 2020 - Delays and Dilemnas

Still waiting on Openreach!!  On day five since the last report of failure 30th July and still no dial tone. We seem to have Broadband but nowhere near the guaranteed 25MBS. 

Changed Susie's Mobile Phone today to EE who claim to have good coverage here.

We shall see - swap over tomorrow at midday...

Meanwhile they will not release me from the contract even though there is no signal whatsoever at my home address!! They want me to pay £54 to leave them.

Should have been booking Vic into his new home today - but they put it off for a week to get the painting done. Said that I did not mind if it was not painted and we could cover that and now looks as thought they will allow us to sign contracts on Friday ... Keeping fingers crossed..

And so back to the new home ...

So, a day with a little more rest!. 

Took a leisurely time to unload the trailer and finally managed to get the glass cabinets into place in the living room. We are beginning to get the shape of everything here, and stamp our own identity upon the place. Strange - it fells as though we have been here for months already and it is not even three weeks!

Another couple of video shorts today to capture the pond while it is in its early stages. The first video actually shows the pond but you cannot see it at all !!

So - a short catch up of photos since we got here..

2nd August 2020 - Back on Line (a bit)

And so - where do we start ??

I took two videos when we first arrived...

I also took one of the Tavern area....

These should act as a  good comparison ..

Internet is limping - Phone is on no dial tone - Mobile phones are useless here - looking for a service that can cover here - looking like EE or Three.

Taking trips to Llanelli every other day when possible.

Vic's Virus Test on Friday came in negative today so we are hopeful that we can sign for his new flat on Tuesday.

Meanwhile - sitting with aches in every bone of the body - but - it seems we have a new home ..

Seem to have a bit of internet and no dial tone on the phone.

Also O2 cannot broach this part of Wales ...
