18th May 2023 - Squash Beds and Hedgerows

Thought for the day :"Going to a deodorant party tomorrow. Roll on Friday"

So, this place is like the Forth Bridge. Every day it is so good to look out at the vista and enjoy the land that is before us - and then you see the things that need doing... I can make a list each morning (were I the sort of person to make lists), and I would never have achieved a completion of the list ...
Instead it is a little more random ...
Susie says "I need to get the Squash planted as they are too long in the Greenhouse" so that becomes the priority over the half dozen jobs already half started - because all the other jobs are not really time related..

And so today it was a priority to weed the last raised veg bed and then rotovate it with the new toy ...

And then - Susie was putting the new rose arches together, and when completed they could be taken down to the bed.

Then we discover that the fishing net that we have is not actually square or oblong so an amount of bailer twine is used to make a construction for the squash to climb over.

But the final result is worthwhile.

Other jobs on priority ...
Get the box hedging trimmed and put in place ..
Well - started

Jobs not completed:-
Clearing the Workshop - stuff still all over the beer garden
Clearing the lower quarter - still a lot of strimming to do
Clearing the Island  - not started strimming
Earthing the Polytunnel side beds - not started
Earthing the Polytunnel central beds - not started
Cutting back Temple of Doris growth to show yellow Rho Do's - Not started
Cutting back Magnolia bush to reveal more azalea - not started

Susie Hobbling a little better today
My ankle and heel a little better as well - at least managing to put weight on it ..

A little weary - but feeling good after a day in the sun

Cheers !
