3rd March 2026 - A strangely Sunny Day

Thought for the day :"Definitions: Testicle (n): a humorous question on an exam."

Dry

First day that the solar has powered in to start heating the water . A good day !
Managed to get two EVRI deliveries thanks to Ben Howells our local star - Giving a Crap and some spray paint for Doris.

The slope by the septic tank is full of snowbells and daffodils but the brambles really need removing.

And down at the pontoon
Can't really see it but Susie has pruned the dog rose back - may need a frame to sort this out

But I hit the rest of the pontoon and cleared all the brambles form the sidewalk, something we have not done since we arrived here. Also planted in some of the willow withies to see if we can sort the bank out a bit.

Cleared all the willow prunings from a few days ago - have to finish this soon

Of course the dogs helped !!

2nd March 2026 - Filling up cars before price rises

Thought for the day :"Definitions: Balderdash (n): a rapidly receding hairline."

Wet

A day for lounging say the dogs

Wet outside and miserable but still signs of spring

Late night walk assisted by the street lights

Took the opportunity of filling yup the cars with fuel before we get the result of the attack on Iran and fuel rises
For reference - Petrol was £1.29  a litre and Diesel was £1.35
Will see what happens in a few weeks after the impact of the wars are experienced

28th February 2026 - And February is done

Thought for the day :"Definitions: Gargoyle (n): olive flavoured mouthwash."

Wet

Day started wet and turned dry, indeed in the afternoon we had sunshine and Susie managed to get out to prune my dog rose at the Pontoon and start on the Willow Patch.

My day started early with a trip down to Bridgend for the Red Cross of Constantine  Divisional meeting

Back in time to assist with reducing the existing pile of wood into kindling and logs, and help Susie with her pruning.

No TillyVision today  but a few photos..

26th February 2026 - Working with Chris

Thought for the day :"Definitions: 6. Negligent (adj): describes a condition in which you absentmindedly answer the door in your nightgown."

Wet

Chris with me today so working a half day in the rain.
Had to prop up the Bullace tree so took the opportunity to clear the pathway. Meanwhile looks as though Susie's Camelia tree will flower this year. Susie has been doing her annual brass clearance and Chris and I cut back the willow tree over the gooseberries and planted a new willow hedge. Busy day.
