30th June 2022 - Crimson Moon Social

Thought for the day :"Rolling out of bed in the morning is no problem – getting off the floor afterwards.. that is more tricky"

So, last day of German Friends being with us and they seem to have enjoyed themselves despite the weather.

Off to Athelstan tomorrow - that will be a first for two years ...

May be off line as in hotel and away for a day ..

29th June 2022 - Open Night and a social

Thought for the day :"Our relationship is failing due to my obsession with rugby. But I have decided to give it one last try!!!"

And so we put a Social Night on in the Crimson Moon Tavern...

Never know if anyone will turn up but there was a general and steady flow and good time had by all..

23rd June 2022 - Meet Dark Storm - the Dragon

Another very sunny and hot day. Seems that the cage around the ducks has worked so will look to some additional wiring for the remaining walls but maybe not the full welded mesh.

Early birthday present for Susie as Dark Storm the Dragon arrived early - waited 6 weeks last time and only a week this time..

In other news the Roses on the front door are going strong - the clematis is growing and changed position for the statues...

Cleared the hedges and laurel by the Troll Pond - 

But gooseberry fool from the garden and strawberries  make good deserts

Great thunder storms all over the area - except for us - Susie a bit disappointed ...

Could do with some rain to water the garden ..

22nd June 2022 - Overnight in the Yurt - and building Colditz for the Ducks

Thought for the day: "I was called pretty today!. Well, actually 'pretty annoying', but I like to concentrate on the positive"

So a good night in the Yurt - slept well as did the dogs who seemed to completely at home, as they settled quickly and did not wake until time for breakfast.

Rest of the day was trying to seal the duck compound with welded mesh as a mink/rat got in an attacked the baby ducks. Two dead - two injured but they seem to be on the mend. New mesh from Screw fix - free next day delivery and lots of batons made from broken pallets and the cage is getting tighter. I think one more roll will be required but after a very hot day in the coop I think that we are secure.
