13th September 2022 - On the mend - slowly

Thought for the day:" 'I'm sorry' and 'I apologise' mean the same.... Unless you are at a funeral!"

Day 2 - 3 for each of us in recovery and Paul is going great - grouting the shower room and replacing the seal after our little water feature over the computers.
Chrissie also in a good place but making the best of the opportunity to nap to get strength back...

Susie improving, but she was the last to go down so taking a little time for her.

I popped up to the shops to get some essentials - and walked the dogs - that about did me in so taking it easy the rest of the day ...

Not much to say other than that ...

Cheers !

12th September 2022 - Still with the Lurgie

Thought for the day :"They should announce a sequel to groundhog day and then just release the original"

Not feeling a well bunnie at all - Paul on the Mend - Chrissie half way there - me - stopped being sick but stomach pains - no appetite

Cheers !

11th September 2022 - The lurgie hits us

Cheers !

10th September 2022 - Horses !!

Thought for the day :"Sometimes I tell fish jokes just for the halibut"

So, Paul has had a nasty 24 hour stomach bug and as we end the day it looks as though Chrissie is going down with the same - fingers crossed that we escape ...

But a trip to Newcastle Emlyn early and then a visitation by Sally and Sarah with their horses. Some Gin was drunk and a good time had by all ...

Hi My name is Toby !!

Just to prove that Toby is actually larger than a Steeple chaser.

Toby tries to give Gawee his BillyWigg

And Paul on better days ...

Fingers Crossed

Cheers !

9th September 2022 - Stones and river rising

Thought for the day :"My wife is leaving me because I'm going bald. Oh well, it's hair loss."

Another wet one!

Susie went the the Chiropractor and also had some acupuncture  (or aqua puncture as Susie would have it!)

I traveled the back streets of Cardigan and found a number of shops which I had no idea were in existence - will look forward to another trip around sometime.

Before, I had another go at the stones in the Beer Garden - thought he rain was threatening - and also attacked the pallets again with the hammer and pliers.

progress

Toby checks on the progress

a bit more progress

and today's progress

cleaning up nicely

And a bit of progress with the Pallets

And the river is beginning to rise with the continuous rain from the last few days

And so another day is done

A political comment as we face 24 hour Queen TV

Cheers !

8th September 2022 - God Save the King

Thought for the day :"What is Earth without art? Eh?”

The Queen is has gone - God save the King!!!

So - buckle up for ten days of nothing but the Crown  ...

In other news - drove to Bristol and picked up Chrissie and Paul and got them safely back to Ffynnon Wen.

No work done today - and indeed the rain would have prevented most of it anyway -
The river is rising
Not surprising based upon the water that has fallen over the last few days

In other news - a bit of truss

Cheers !

7th September 2022 - Stones and Bubbles

Thought for the day :"My partner told me I can be an idiot sometimes – nice to have permission"

An interesting day - with mixed results...
Started the day clearing the Beer Garden of stones again - only doing a bit each day ..But there is progress...

yesterday

Today - a little progress
Meanwhile, Bubbles !!

Toby enjoyed !

We have a small problem with the plumbing at Ffynnon Wen - the shower and macerating toilet are on a circuit that has an automatic water pump. This is meant to switch off when the water is turned off but occasionally it decides to stay on - we don't know why. It may be to do with water pressure - or anything else.
The trick is to leave the cold water on for a while at full blast - and if done correctly then it will switch off - so I tried tonight. I directed the flow against the wall but it seems there may be a small gap in the seal as after it had been switched off for a while - and in fairness the pump switched off as well.
But sitting at my desktop machine a steady drip of water started to fall on my desk - the laptop and keyboards and to be fair a small panic ensued.

A bit Heath - Robinson ish - but protected the equipment.. Need to get some sealant now.

And the rest of the day was de-nailing a bit more of the pallets. Again slow progress - but some.

A visit to see Vic for Susie - I didn't go in this time - he hardly knows Susie and there in no conversation so the visit was not very long - but he has recovered from his chest infection and is enjoying his tea still.

In other news ...  Truss Issues

And a quick review of the election of leader..

Well they made the choice...

Off to Bristol tomorrow to pick up Chrissie and Paul from the hotel.

Another day moves on ...

Cheers !
